White not commenting on New Living Word School

Posted: Updated:

RUSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - KNOE 8 News continues to follow the removal of one Ruston school from the voucher program, and what it means for students.

New Living Word School in Ruston has been taken of the voucher system after an audit revealed descrepencies in tuition.

It showed the school was charging non-voucher students less than voucher students, meaning the school must pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars to the state.

It also means an unsure future for the school's students.

KNOE 8 News has reached out to state superintendent John White multiple times since the report was released from his office. In November, he spoke highly of the school and how it was doing in the program. But since Friday, KNOE 8 News has received no response from White to comment on the situation in Ruston.
