NEW ORLEANS (KNOE 8 News/AP) - New Orleans' third-oldest playground had been closed ever since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, but it has re-opened at last.

New Orleans city officials and the Federal Emergency Management Agency officially re-opened St. Roch Park on Monday.

A city news release says it's the result of a $1.8 million renovation. Funding came from FEMA public assistance, federal Disaster Community Development Block Grant funds, and city bond funds.

St. Roch Park originally opened in 1910.
