UNION PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Louisiana State Troopers are looking into a crash that left a Farmerville woman dead Saturday night.

It happened on Helmer Road, just west of Louisiana Highway 151.

Investigators believe 46-year-old Pamela Temple was driving her 2001 Nissan Altima, when she traveled off the roadway, after driving along a curve in the road. Troopers said her car ended up stuck in a ditch. Troopers said as the vehicle left the roadway it overturned and was found partially submerged in water.

The Union Parish Coroner's Office pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Investigators said it's unclear if Temple was wearing a seatbelt. A toxicology sample was taken at the time of the crash, but state police believe alcohol was not a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troop F (Northeast Louisiana) state police have investigated 27 fatal crashes that have resulted in 29 deaths so far this year.
