MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Entergy crews are spending their Saturday restoring power.

Entergy Customer Service Manager Jim Presnell said severe weather Friday night caused about 10,000 outages in Ouachita Parish and surrounding areas.

Presnell said crews continued working throughout the night. By Saturday morning, there were about 4,000 outages in the parish.

Entergy crews are working to send power to about 2,200 homes and businesses, as of Saturday afternoon.

Presnell said crews have discovered about 34 distribution poles that are broken and six transmission poles that are broken. The distribution poles send electricity to homes and businesses, while the transmission units send power to the substations.

There are power crews from Mansfield, La., Natchitoches, La., Hot Springs, Ark., and Magnolia, Ark. helping out the crews in Ouachita Parish.

The Vicksburg area has about 4,000 outages crews are also working to change.

Power crews believe all power should be restored by Sunday night.
