Severe weather causes flight cancellations

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Passengers at the Monroe Regional Airport are dealing with flight cancellations Saturday.

Airport Director Ron Phillips said Friday night's severe weather caused power outages. Phillips said the power failures is affecting equipment used by the FAA and weather products used for pilots.

According to the airport official, only Delta and United flights are canceled for Saturday.

Friday night also caused some minor damage to the Monroe Regional Airport. Phillips said a hanger and a private plane were slightly damaged as a result of the wind gusts and heavy rainfall Friday night.
