Deputies seek bag owner in bus station pot bust

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Sheriff's deputies are looking for the owner of a bag containing more than 30 pounds of pot seized at Monroe's Greyhound Bus Station.

On Wednesday, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office SCAT Team conducted an investigation at the bus station on Louisville Avenue. During the investigation, a K-9 officer singled out a piece of luggage belonging to a person who was riding the bus to Monroe from Mesquite, Texas.

A search warrant was obtained and the package was found to contain 31 pounds of Marijuana. No one claimed the package at the time of seizure and the investigation is on going to locate the owner of the package.
