Suspect sought in fatal Ruston Shooting

RUSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Ruston Police are searching for a shooting suspect. Thursday night officers responded to the 1300 block of Benton Street in reference to a shooting.

Officers discovered 31-year-old Deanthony Mardis, of Ruston, was shot. Mardis was taken to the Northern Louisiana Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators are searching for 22-year-old Demauriea McGee, of Grambling. A warrant has been issued for McGee's arrest in the shooting. Investigators are actively pursuing several leads.

If anyone has any information, they are urged to call or text Ruston Lincoln Crime Stoppers or call the Ruston Police Department. Do not approach the suspect as he is considered armed and dangerous.
