MOORE, Ok. (KNOE 8 News) - The recovery continues after devastating tornadoes nearly flattened parts of Oklahoma.

Our own Mark Boyle is in Moore, Oklahoma, on the road to recovery.

As far as the eye can see in Moore, Oklahoma, it's the unimaginable.  The devastation is difficult to comprehend.  The work is tedious, emotional and dangerous.  So much so, everyone is urged to get a Tetanus shot.

Within the neighborhoods, mass clean-up has few moments to rest. Rick MacMains is here helping his son who lost nearly everything. He spent nearly a decade with the US Navy but this is a first.

"To look here and see the devastation, and knowing what my son's gone through in the past week, that's uh, that's really tough," says Rick MacMains. For Rick this site is unimaginable, but so is the spirit here. That's where former Bastrop High School Principal Rick Van Loon comes in. He spent 37 years in education in the ArkLaMiss and Rick's never had a learning experience like this.

"This is massive, its going to be one heck of a clean-up," says Van Loon.

Rick spends his day giving something to people who have nothing.  Rick could be spending his retirement on a beach somewhere but instead he's in Moore, Oklahoma.  A hot meal, a water and smile. It's not much he says but it's something.

For a city that's struggling to regain it's sense of community, it's never lost it's compassion.
