UPDATE

COLLINSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Neighbors are still seeking answers behind the murder of a 67-year-old woman, on Frank Bell Road, in the small town of Collinston. That's southeast of Bastrop.

"Who would've thought someone would mess with Ms.Mattie when there are so many other things going on around," Neighbor Letha Kelley said.

The body of Mattie Williams was found back in August 2006, a few miles away from her home. On the day of the murder, there were blood stains  found outside the house and investigators taking evidence from the scene.

One neighbor is hoping for justice, for a woman he called a friend, after all these years no one has been charged with murder.

"Something should have been done a long time ago about this. Had it been somebody with money, somebody would've served some time," Frank Miller said.

Her son, 38-year-old John Williams is now in the custody of Morehouse sheriff's deputies. He's charged with Obstruction of Justice and Home Invasion in this case and has a $100,000 bond. But a neighbor is having a tough time understanding the recent arrest.

"It's kind of hard to believe, for me to believe, that her son would be involved like that."

"The sheriff says the arrest was made possible with the help of the Tallahassee Police Department in the state of Florida. The sheriff says, John Williams, was found in the Sunshine State. He was then brought back to the Bayou State where he is being held inside the Morehouse Parish Jail.

The first arrest in this case happened back in March. Renwick Jackson was taken into custody with the same charges as John Williams, but with a $125,000 bond. Once the investigation wraps up, documents and evidence will be handed over to a grand jury.
