Manic Monday Leg Workout for May 20th

Overview of exercises on Monday morning's "Manic Monday" segment - May 20, 2013.

Squats:

  1. Feet shoulder width apart (center your weight in your heels)
  2. Hands at your side or palms together in front of you in a prayer-like motion.
  3. Move downward like you're sitting; keep your weight in your heels
  4. Pause at the bottom, return to the top and repeat

Lunges:

  1. Stand, step back so the legs are apart from front to back.
  2. Move forward, bending in the front and the back.  Each leg should be bent in a 90-degree angle

One-legged squat stretch:

  1. Sit back, as you move back, slowly put the opposite leg over an opposite knee. 
  2. If you are not used to this, it is extremely important to hold on to something beside you for balance until you master the movement
  3. Hold in sitting position for five or more seconds and then return to standing.
