UPDATE: Teen charged in shooting

UPDATE SUNDAY

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A 16-year-old is now in police custody after a Saturday shooting in Monroe.

Officers arrested the shooting suspect on the 3000 block of Evangeline Street. According to investigators, the teen admitted to wounding a man in his chest by gunfire Saturday on Roger Street.

The suspect's name is not being released because of the age. The teen is charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder.

The victim is listed in serious but stable condition. Police say the man is expected to recover.

Investigators say the motive behind the shooting may have been just an ongoing dispute between the two.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Investigators are looking into a shooting. It all happened after police received a call of a man lying in the street suffering from a bullet wound, Saturday afternoon on Roger Street. Police have yet to release the name of the victim. 

There is no word on who the gunman is or a description of the suspect.

A spokesman for the department says investigators will update us on more details as the story develops.
