UPDATE: Boater in ICU listed in serious condition

UPDATE Sunday 10:30 AM - LSU Hospital in Shreveport confirms Mike Sullivan of West Monroe is in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit.

Sullivan was injured in a two boat collision on the Ouachita River Saturday morning. He was immediately airlifted to the hospital where he was moved to ICU. A hospital supervisor says Sullivan's vital signs are stable, but his overall condition is serious.

UPDATE Saturday 2:00 PM - It has been confirmed that the injured boater is Mike Sullivan of West Monroe.

He was airlifted to LSU Hospital in Shreveport after a two boat accident on the Ouachita River. He is now being transfer to ICU. A Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Officer at the hospital with the victim says, "He looks like he is going to pull through this."

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A boater is reported to be in critical condition after a collision on the Ouachita River.

Lt. Scott Watson of Wildlife and Fisheries reports that a two boat collision occurred just before noon Saturday on the Ouachita River at the mouth of Bayou Darbonne.

The single occupant of one boat has been airlifted to LSU Hospital in Shreveport and is in critical condition. The other boat had two people onboard, neither of whom suffered any major injuries. The couple was participating in the Big Bass Fishing Tournament.

The crash is under investigation and it has not been determined if alcohol was involved.
