Monroe super to make 150k

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe School Board is looking at savings as it decides how much its new superintendent will make.

Wednesday morning was the first meeting to discuss the one-year contract for newly named superintendent Brent Vidrine. Vidrine is currently principal at Neville High School. He will make $150,000 from June to May 2014.

The board is considering a termination option for schools that do not show improvement under Vidrine's leadership. Much of Vidrine's benefits will remain as they are, which will save the district about $13,000.

The final contract offer is expected to be presented next week.
