Shoe switch fails...Vidalia man arrested

Posted: Updated:

FERRIDAY, La. (AP) - Concordia Parish sheriff's deputies say a Vidalia man was caught while trying to sneak contraband into the parish jail.

21-year-old Bryan M. Brown was arrested on Saturday.

Authorities say Brown apparently switched shoes, allegedly containing synthetic marijuana, with his inmate brother during a visit to the jail.

Brown was booked with introduction of contraband in a penal institute, simple escape, simple criminal damage to property and battery of a police officer.

Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy David Hedrick says Brown was visiting his brother, Christopher Walker, who's imprisoned on an armed robbery charge.
