JONESBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Jackson Parish Superintendent Wayne Alford says that school was in sessionTuesday at Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School.

He says several employees from the central office went to help the middle school principal fill about 12 to 13 substitute needs. He also says he is unaware of any teacher walk out. 

Students were initially waiting in the gymnasium of the school while they officials filled the need for substitutes.

KNOE 8 news received several tips that teachers were staging a walk out because of grievances with the principal of the school and the school board. And it is known that a number of teachers did call in "sick" Tuesday.

JONESBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Teachers at Jonesboro-Hodge Middle School are staging a walkout today in protests to "grievances" against the principal and the school board.

KNOE 8 News received several phone tips regarding the walk out, and a school official confirmed that no teacher had shown up to work today.

The school official also confirmed that children at the school were in the gymnasium awaiting for school officials to make a decision as to what to do with the children.

KNOE 8 News has sent a crew to the scene and will report as more information comes available.
