Domestic results in gunshots, Arrest

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe man is arrested following a domestic dispute where he fired shots at his ex-girlfriend.

Tuesday evening, officers responded to the 1600 block of north 3rd Street in reference to a domestic battery complaint and shots fired. Upon arrival officers learned the female victim's ex-boyfriend, Michael Beaudoin, and the victim became involved in an verbal altercation that turned physical.

The victim stated the Beaudoin began to beat and kick her in the parking lot, striking her numerous times in the head and face. The suspect was pulled away by a witness.

The suspect entered an apartment at that location and came out with a handgun and fired 5 shots at the victim who took cover behind her car. The victim was not hit.  The suspect left on foot. Monroe Detectives and Crime Scene Unit were called to the scene. The victim was transported to St. Francis.

Four locations inside the parish were searched in an attempt to locate the suspect without success. The victim was later released from the hospital. A warrant for the suspect was obtained for Attempted Second Degree Murder.
