West Monroe Farmer's Market set for formal opening

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) – Ribbon cutting ceremonies will feature a free lunch and tour.

The City of West Monroe and the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting on Monday, April 29 for the West Monroe Farmer's Market at Seventh Square.

The ribbon cutting will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29 at the Farmer's Market, located at 1700 N. 7th Street in West Monroe. The public is invited to attend this free event. A light vegetable lunch will be served, and musical entertainment will be provided by Rickey Pittman.

The public is encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting and view the newly-updated Farmer's Market at Seventh Square. Market organizers will show off the newly-painted pavilion and market stands. The event will also mark the opening day of the 2013-2014 market season.

The West Monroe Farmer's Market will be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the Farmer's Market, please call (318) 322-2203.
