Monroe project helps disabled elderly

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe Housing Authority has completed a 1.9 million dollar project to help those in need.

Alabama place is a newly constructed apartment complex that will provide barrier-free housing. It will serve the physically disabled and elderly.

It will also address the housing needs of grandparents raising their grandchildren. Each home has two or three bedrooms.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon.
