Police: One man injured in shooting

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe police officers are looking into a shooting in South Monroe.

Detectives say it happened at Parkview Apartments on the 1100-Block of Richwood Road Number 2 around 6:00 P.M. Saturday.

Investigators say a man is suffering from a bullet wound to the leg after he would not hand over money during a robbery. Officers believe the armed thief got away with unknown property from the victim and took off in an unknown vehicle.

Police say the shooting victim tried to drive himself to the hospital but crashed into a ditch on Jackson and Peters Streets.

Officers say the victim is being treated for serious injuries.
