Amber Alert cancelled: Missing child in Texas found

(KNOE 8 News) - An amber alert out of Texas looking for a 12-year-old Sommer Brown has been cancelled afer she was found safe.

Chicago police said Sunday they received information that Sommer Brown and her mother were located near Indianapolis. Cedar Hill police confirmed that, adding that it was an Indianapolis officer who noticed the vehicle and contacted Cedar Hill authorities.

Police also said Lisa Elizabeth Brown was in police custody Sunday.

CEDAR HILL, Tx. (KNOE 8 News) - Law enforcement in Texas is looking for a 12-year-old girl who is believed to be in grave or immediate danger.

The Cedar Hill Police Department, just outside of Downtown Dallas, says Sommer Brown is the missing child they're hoping to find. Police believe she's about 5'6" and 90 pounds. The little girl was last seen wearing a black tank top and black basketball shorts.

Officers say the child is with 43-year-old Elizabeth Brown. She's about 5'8" and 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black blazer and light green shirt.

Police say the suspect is driving a gray, 2006, Ford Expedition with a temporary Texas license plate number 86P 3357. Police believe the 43-year-old was last heard from in Cedar Hill.
