MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe police department rolled out its new police cars today at the National Guard Armory.

The ten new units come complete with the latest cutting-edge technology, fully-protected rear windows to prevent prisoner escape, and boast a brand-new paint scheme and logo.

These ten units are expected to be the vanguard of what the city's entire fleet will look like in the future.

The city's goal is to eventually add a total fleet of some 60 of the new hi-tech units, with the next order expected to arrive late this year.

Lyndsey Price was at the event with the police and city officials, and will have more on the new units as well as taking us along on a cruise with officers in one of the new units, demonstrating the features that make it the wave of the future.
