Arkansas Health officials checking in on some dental patients

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNOE 8 News) - Arkansas Health officials and the Drug Enforcement Administration are contacting about a hundred dental patients who may have been exposed to infectious material through IV medications.

The people at risk were patients of William Jarrod Stewart, who died more than a year ago, at six dental clinics over three months in 2011 and 2012.

The ADH says there are no reports of illnesses, but there's a chance the patients could transmit a disease. The DEA is recommending blood tests for patients who visited Stewart's clinics.
