Fatal Lincoln Parish crash

DOWNSVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News/ LSP) - On April 7, 2013, at 11:42 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 3072 at Louisiana Highway 33.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2012 Mack Tractor Trailer, driven by 61-year-old Lester Jordan of Downsville, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 3072 when it crossed the center line, traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Jordan was properly restrained. Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lincoln Parish Coroner's office.

Alcohol use is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. A toxicology sample was taken and will be submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.

Troop F has investigated 11 fatal crashes which have resulted in 13 deaths so far this year.
