Local law enforcement now siting on the state Highway Safety Commission

BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Governor Bobby Jindal announced Friday appointments to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission serves to develop and implement comprehensive strategies aimed at saving lives and preventing injuries on Louisiana highways.

According to statute, the commission is comprised of 21 gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation. Membership must include at least one member from each congressional district.

Appointments to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission:

Dwayne "Poncho" Munch, of Westwego, is the police chief for Westwego. Munch will be reappointed to serve as a representative of the 2nd Congressional District, as required by statute.

Rickey Moses, of Deridder, is the Beauregard Parish Sheriff. Moses will be appointed to serve as a representative of the 4th Congressional District, as required by statute.

Bryan Bossier, Sr., of Alexandria, is the President and CEO of Diamond B Construction. Bossier will be reappointed to serve as a representative of the 5th Congressional District, as required by statute.

Rodney Arbuckle, of Mansfield, is the Desoto Parish Sheriff. Arbuckle will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Bob Buckley, of Farmerville, is the Union Parish Sheriff. Buckley will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Anthony "Tony" Mancuso, of Lake Charles, is the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff. Mancuso will be reappointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Lee Harrell, of Rayville, is the Richland Parish Sheriff. Harrell will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.

Franklin Kyle III, of Mandeville, is the President of Kyle Associates, LLC. Kyle will be appointed to serve as a gubernatorial appointee, as required by statute.
