Morehouse grand jury passes on indictment decision

Posted: Updated:

BASTROP, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A Morehouse Parish grand jury has failed to return an indictment against 43-year-old Robert Todd Curtis, a Bastrop man booked with manslaughter.

District Attorney Jerry Jones says the grand jury met to consider the case but did not make a decision.

Jones said this does not mean Curtis' charge has been dropped.

Curtis was arrested in November on one count of manslaughter in the shooting death of 48-year-old Bastrop resident David Hale.

He was released a few days later on a $20,000 bond.

Morehouse Parish Sheriff Mike Tubbs said Curtis was dating Jones' estranged wife at the time of the shooting.
