WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The loved ones of the two teens, who had their lives taken by a house fire on the 200 Block of Weldon Road are picking up the pieces.

Fire crews and relatives are searching through charred home for anything worth keeping.

Members of Family Church in West Monroe are also close by their fellow members, the grieving family, for support.

"So far, they are really struggling with the overall loss, obviously number one: of her son and nephew and of the house itself and losing everything," Khristy Oneal said.

The early morning fire claimed the life of West Monroe High School Senior Kyle Phillips and Freshman Mitchell Whitehead.

"One thing that we would like to ask first, is that in the community, please pray for the family," Fritz Niswanger said.

The support is flowing in on Wednesday. There are flowers on the mailbox, there's also a makeshift memorial in the yard.

The rain is not stopping friends of the teens from remembering some of the fun moments with their friends.

"The outgoingness and the care for everybody and there was never a stranger," Cole Hance said.

The family also has a message for all the people who have donated already.

"Next they would like to just say thank you fro everything that everyone has already done," Oneal said.

Investigators have not released a cause of the fire.
