MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe man is in custody accused of forcing his way into an apartment and then taking a two-year-old boy hostage.
It happened in the 1100 block of Richwood Road #2 and was reported to police as a burglary call. Police say Henry Chapman forced his way into an apartment and took the boy hostage and then placed a knife to the boy's neck while leaving the apartment.
When he was confronted by the child's mother and a witness outside the apartment, Chapman released the child.
Chapman was located by officers at the apartment complex and taken into custody. Prior to police arrival, Chapman had been assaulted by unknown parties and had to be treated at a hospital.
Chapman was then booked into OCC for Aggravated Burglary, Kidnapping, and Cruelty to a Juvenile. Investigation is continuing.

Monroe, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Police arrested Thomas Wroten this afternoon following a domestic dispute. At 9:15pm last night Monroe Police received an emergent call for help in the 5300 block of Blanks.
