MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe Fire Department responded to an early morning blaze.

At about 2:45 Friday morning, a fire broke out at 313 South 13th Street off Ouachita Road.

Fire officials say that the structure in the fire was an empty house. The house suffered major damage and no one was inside at the time of the fire.

Monroe fire officials are investigating what caused the fire.
