W. Monroe dentist gets Distinguished Service Award

WEST MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Dr. L. King Scott has been presented with the La. Dental Association's distinguished service award in Shreveport.

According to Annette B. Droddy, assistant executive director of the LDA, "The Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor bestowed by the LDA and is given annually to individual members who exemplify the highest standards of professional conduct in dentistry and make extraordinary contributions in organized dentistry and their community."

Dr. Scott, who attended ULM in Monroe, now lives in West Monroe and spoke glowingly about his university experiences and attributed much of his success to the education he received at ULM.

Dr. Scott, a part time instructor of Head and Neck Anatomy in ULM's Dental Hygiene Program. Said that to this day, he still recommends ULM to high school students because ULM is such a great university with a long history in health sciences."
