Monroe Army Reserve unit gets new C.O.

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Lieutenant Colonel Morris Mayers will pass the command of the 2nd Battalion, 378th Regiment, US Army Reserve, to Lt. Col. Andrew Field at a change of command ceremony on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 10 a.m., at the US Army Reserve Center, located at 5101 Squadron Road in Monroe.

The battalion is part of the 1st Brigade of the Army Reserve's 95th Training Division, headquartered at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Colonel Frank Curtis, the brigade commander will preside over the ceremony.

Field is a native of Natchitoches, Louisiana and a 1996 graduate of Northwestern State University. He most recently served in the 4th Brigade, 75th Division, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Following his tour as battalion commander, Mayers will assume his new duties in the brigade headquarters at Ft. Sill.
