WINNSBORO La., (KNOE 8 News) - Sharmeka Moffitt was formally charged on Tuesday with terrorizing and false swearing for the purpose of violating public health and safety.
21 year old Moffitt is a Franklin Parish woman accused of setting herself on fire back in October in Winnsboro. Police say Moffitt blamed three men in white hoodies. She's currently recovering from burns on more than half of her body.
District Attorney Mack Lancaster says Moffitt isn't a flight risk and won't be required to turn herself in, bond will be set at her arraignment on April 23rd.
Moffitt could face up to 20 years in prison and $16,000.00 in fines.
