RAPIDES PARISH, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Around midday Monday, Firefighters from Pineville, the Rapides fire district, Holiday Village and RPSO deputies all responded to a structure fire at 120 Wayne Street in Pineville.
When firefighters and law enforcement personnel arrived a witness told them that there was still someone inside the residence.
After the fire was extinguished, Firefighters and RPSO Detectives said that they had located a body in the residence. It's unknown what the cause of death was and the dead person has not yet been identified.
Also, it's not currently known what started the fire.
Detectives and Crime Scene investigtors are still at the residence gathering evidence and this incident is being treated as a homicide.
