MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe firefighters have determined the cause of the fire at Windsor Inn.
Fire Investigator Tommy James has confirmed it all started when plumbers were working on some pipes. A fire started inside a wall and then reached the attic, according to James. The fire investigator says the plumbers attempted to use two extinguishers to put out the fire, but the fire was too wild to contain by then.
The fire displaced more than 50 people and destroyed 24 apartments Friday afternoon in Monroe.
