Trevor Reese pleads guilty, could receive parole

Posted: Updated:

St. Francisville, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A 19-year-old man has pleaded guilty to second degree murder of an 8-year-old boy.

Trevor Reese had initially pleaded insanity, but in exchange for lesser charges he pleaded guilty.

In his sentencing hearing, the judge will determine if he should be offered parole.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that juveniles who committed crimes are constitutionally given the right for the possibility of parole, even though Louisiana law says second degree murder is a non-paroled offense.

Reese was 16 when he committed the crime.
