Virtual charter school enrolling students

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - There's no need to wait for the bell to ring to start learning, a group of educators have a different way to help students learn and they don't have to go far to do it.

The Louisiana Connections Academy is offering a free virtual public charter school. This is the second year this type of school is available.

Currently, 1,200 students are enrolled this year.

The curriculum is taught through online lessons and textbooks. Tutors are also available for students who need them.

"Not only are our teachers available to help our students one on one, we're also very excited about Live Tutor this year. Our students are able to go into a live lesson with questions already in hand," Marketing Coordinator Shelly Centanni said.

Educators say the charter school is meant for any student, Kindergarten through 12th grade, seeking a different educational experience.
