Arkansas Attorney General denies medical marijuana ballot measure

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ar.  (KNOE 8 News) - The Arkansas Attorney General's office has rejected the proposal to ask voters to approve the medical use of marijuana in the state.

The opinion from Attorney General Dustin Mcdaniel's office says the proposal contains numerous ambiguities and grammatical errors. The opinion suggests a "lack of focus" in the preparation of the proposal.

A similar bill was introduced in 1999, but was also denied. The author of this year's measure says the language is almost identical to the previous measure.
