Condo water dispute continues in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The Louisiana Attorney General's Office has confirmed it is investigating problems at a Baton Rouge condominium complex where water service was recently shut off for nearly 70 occupied apartments.

According to reports, the East Baton Rouge city-parish government sent registered letters to the owners of the dilapidated Brandywine condominiums in January. The letters said water service would be shut off due to an unpaid sewer bill of more than $109,000.

Laura Gerdes Colligan, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General's Office, said the office is investigating because of "consumer complaints and-or fair housing complaints." She gave no details.

The apartment complex's management office was closed Monday morning.
