Ruston trio arrested for running a meth lab

RUSTON, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Three Ruston residents have arrested by Union Parish sheriff's deputies for operation/creation of a clandestine methamphetamine lab.

Sheriff Bob Buckley identified the trio as Jason W. Rockett, 43, 715 Stable Rd., Shawna Lee Jessup, 36, of 1610 Mimosa Circle, and Stephen Anthony Straub, 39, of 150 North Village, Lot 46. Bonds were set are $7,500.

Rockett was additionally charged with driving while impaired with that bond set at $1,500.

The three arrests were the result of a call received by Crime Stoppers of Union Parish.

Buckley said deputies followed Rockett's vehicle down numerous back streets around Farmerville. The vehicle was stopped when it turned onto La. Hwy. 33 south headed toward Ruston.

The vehicle was stopped for improper lane usage and a subsequent search turned up pseudoephedrine and a cold pack, both of which can be used is creating meth, the sheriff said.
