MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The 55th annual Barak Shrine circus kicks off today at the Monroe Civic Center. It's the Shiners' biggest fundraiser of the year, and they have been working to make it an event to remember for months.
It's an event that families across the Arklamiss look forward to every year, and for good reason. You'll see a black bear performing tricks, bikers running through the "globe of death," and of course the clowns will be up to their tricks. The shriners say it's fun for the whole family, regardless of your age.
We previewed some of the events on Good Morning Arklamiss friday. Visit the Good Morning Arklamiss section of KNOE's website for more interviews and a sneak peek of the events.
Tickets are available at the Monroe Civic Center Box office. Children ages 5 and under get in to the circus for free, children and teen tickets are $5. and tickets for adults are $10.
The big-top shows will be performed Friday night at 7pm, Saturday at 10am, 2pm and 6pm and Sunday at 2pm and 6pm.
