BATON ROUGE, La., (KNOE 8 News) – The Louisiana Workforce Commission is requesting input from the public for a brief online survey that will help determine the employment needs of individuals with disabilities throughout the state.
Individuals with disabilities, parents or guardians of an individual with a disability, advocates, service providers and interested members of the public are encouraged to participate in the needs assessment survey. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Survey responses are anonymous and will be kept confidential.
Information obtained from the surveys will be used to assist Louisiana Rehabilitation Services identify areas for program improvement and will drive agency initiatives for the next three years. LRS, an agency within the LWC's Office of Workforce Development, works to assist people with disabilities in obtaining or maintaining employment through its flagship Vocational Rehabilitation program. The VR program offers individuals with disabilities vocational guidance and career counseling, job training and job placement assistance. In 2012, LRS assisted more than 29,000 individuals with disabilities.
