NATCHITOCHES, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Several buildings were evacuated at Northwestern State University and classes were canceled after a high school housed on the campus received a bomb threat.
Shortly before noon, university police evacuated campus buildings near the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts, which also was evacuated. The buildings include Fournet, Morrison, Kyser, Russell, Williamson and Bienvenu halls; the Family and Consumer Sciences Building, Watson Library; the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts, the NSU Alumni Center and the Friedman Student Union.
At least one campus entrance was closed.
Details about the alleged threat were not immediately released.
Northwestern State has about 4,500 students; The high school serves 301 students in grades 10, 11 and 12.
