MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe man is behind bars after alerting police of his own crime. 43-year-old George Kennon is charged with attempted robbery . Officers say Kennon called police on himself. That's after, according to officers, he tried to steal money from the Kangaroo store on North 18th street overnight. Kennon apparently told a dispatcher he slipped the cashier a note hoping to get some cash. He's being held on a $45,000 bond.
