BASKIN, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The auction held this weekend to raise money for search efforts to find Joshua Berry, was a success.

The family of missing Rayville man Joshua Berry says they raised $8,000 Saturday by auctioning items donated by the community.

The money will help the family continue their search, and be added to the reward for any information that could lead them to find Joshua Berry.

BASKIN, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The family of missing Rayville man, Joshua Berry, holds an auction to benefit their search efforts.

It's been five months and ten days since Joshua Charles Berry went missing, but his family measure's his time gone in another way.

"He missed his mom's birthday," says Berry's wife, Jessica, "his sister's birthday, our first year anniversary. He's missed Thanksgiving, the birth of our third child."

"We just want him to come back home to have fun with us," says their daughter Juliette.

Berry's eight-year-old, Alyssa says "We'll do anything for him to come back home and we'll give anything away for him to come back home."

That's the thought behind the benefit auction. The entire community has helped gather items to be auctioned off, with all of the proceeds going toward the reward for information about Berry's disappearance.

"If we get a good enough reward built up and get enough money through this auction and the Bar-be-que plates we've been selling, hopefully we'll get the answers we've been needing to bring my brother-in-law home," says Berry's friend Justin Lord.

After months of searching, no leads have been found, but Berry's family holds out hope someone will come forward.

"Somebody's got to know something," says Lonnie Berry, his mother, "he did not just disappear."

The original reward was set to $5,000 and with the auction money the Berry's are hoping to double that.
