WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Several seniors are giving back today, and our men and women who have served in the military are benefiting.
The ladies of the North Louisiana Quilt Guild are making quilts for our veterans. The group has more than 100 members, who meet throughout the year to work on community service projects.
The women work together to create lap quilts for retired men and women at the veterans home. The group has several other service projects including quilts for ARCO members and children in foster care.
"So many of the children that get our quilts are moved from place to place to place," says Susan Wible, "but they have a quilt that is theirs' and they can have that with them forever."
