BASTROP, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A suit has been filed in Morehouse Parish, seeking to block a mayoral candidate in Bastrop.
The suit was filed with the 4th Judicial District Attorney's office, by a registered voter, asking that
Allen Toliver be blocked from running for Mayor in the city of Bastrop.
The reason given in the suit was an accusation that the address listed on Toliver's qualifying paperwork, 10515 Reeves Street, Bastrop, is actually outside the city limits of Bastrop. Because of this, the suit claims Toliver does not meet the qualifications of the office.
A hearing on the matter has been set for Tuesday, Feb. 26th, a 9am in courtroom #2 of the Morehouse Parish courthouse.
