More detours on I-40 in Arkansas

Posted: Updated:

LITTLE ROCK, Ar., (KNOE 8 News) - If you're headed into Arkansas today (Wednesday), here's some road information you need to be aware of:

Traffic moving both east and west along Interstate 40 through Prairie and Monroe counties will be detoured onto nearby two-lane highways Wednesday morning (February 20th). The detours are scheduled to be in place by 8 AM.

Detours along both east and west lanes of traffic are necessary to give recovery crews a clear and safe path to remove an overturned commercial carrier truck that was involved in a highway crash at the 201 mile maker Tuesday afternoon.

Eastbound traffic will be diverted at the 193 mile marker exit (Hazen) and routed onto U.S. Highway 70.

Westbound traffic will be diverted at the 202 mile marker exit (Biscoe) and routed onto State Highway 38.

Eastbound lanes are expected to be re-opened to traffic by approximately 9 AM. Westbound lanes may not be re-opened to traffic until 10 AM or later.

Should inclement weather move into the area Wednesday morning, the recovery operation will be delayed.
