Twin city police chase ends in arrests

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two people are behind bars accused of having meth and running from police.

West Monroe police said 38-year-old John Robertson and 25-year-old Stephanie Boyd are being held on a multiple charges.

Officers said Robertson, the driver, failed to use his signal light when making a turn. According to the police report, an officer then noticed the lights near the license plate were not working. That's when a police cruiser tried to pull over the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop, police said.

The chase ended in Monroe at Forsythe Park after the driver crashed the vehicle, police said. Robertson and Boyd then jumped out of the vehicle and started running from officers, according to the police report. Both suspects were captured. Police said they were forced to taze Robertson twice.

Officers said they found two plastic bags each containing two grams of meth, four other plastic bags with a smaller amount of meth, one bag containing cotton balls, one bag of marijuana, one syringe, one digital scale, one credit card, and more than 70 empty plastic bags.

Boyd has a $33,000 bond. Robertson has a bond set at a little under $38,000.
