MONROE,La. (KNOE 8 News) - On Jan 29, 2013 at approximately 10:20pm, the Monroe Police Department responded to the 1700 block of US 165 Service road regarding a fatal hit and run accident. Monroe Police believe that Althea Thomas , age 49 of Monroe, was walking in this area when she was struck by a motor vehicle that then left the area. It was raining heavily at that time. At this time there are no witnesses or evidence to assist in this case. Ms. Thomas died as a result of her injuries.
