MINDEN, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe man accused of driving a stolen car is behind bars as of Sunday night.

State police say 50-year-old Leonardo McClinton was stopped for driving without any head lights in the rain near Minden on Interstate-20. That's when, troopers say, they discovered it was a stolen vehicle.

The Monroe man didn't go down with a fight apparently. Police say it took an off duty officer to help with the arrest. On top of that, during the commotion, an 18-wheeler struck the off duty cop's car also damaging the trooper's car.

McClinton is in jail on a slew of charges, including three counts of resisting arrest by force, three counts of battery on a police officer, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Police say he's also wanted by Shreveport police and Bienville deputies.
