VICKSBURG, Ms., (KNOE 8 News) - A 21-month-old boy who was ejected from a car driven by his mother on U.S. Highway 61 South this week has died at a Jackson hospital.
Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey says Brooklyn Weimer died of a traumatic brain injury Wednesday at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Vicksburg police says the child was not restrained in a car seat or wearing a seat belt.
District Attorney Ricky Smith says the facts of the case will be presented to a county grand jury, which will decide if an indictment is warranted.
Police say the child's injuries were the result of a two-vehicle accident about 10 p.m. this past Monday. The child's mother, who was driving one of the vehicles, was not injured.
